The style resurfaced in the late 2010s and early 2020s alongside other baggy attire; possibly due to the shift to more comfortable clothing during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic and retro revival fashion trends.
Baggy pants typically feature loose-fitting fabric that drapes generously around the legs. They are often made from comfortable, breathable materials like cotton or linen. Baggy pants are all-round and can suit different body types, but they are especially flattering for:

In the early 19th century, when a standardized uniform did not yet exist in the U.S. Navy, some sailors adopted a style of wide trousers ending in bell-shaped cuffs. These “bell-bottoms” were often just very wide-legged trousers, rather than shaped trousers that flared below the knee.

Today boot-cut jeans style continues to be popular and is an acceptable casual wear for both men and women.
